
When I was visiting schools along the East Coast, my father and I stayed for a weekend in Boston. The rental car we had used was deemed useless (he had lived in Boston for a few years prior to my birth and knew how congested it could get). One thing led to another, and we ended up riding the "T" rapid transit. That moment was when I knew what I wanted to do: I wanted to design transportation systems.

Anecdotes aside, Gateway and UC have made me generalize my interest into creating new and innovative ways to solve the ever-bearing problem of crumbling infrastructure and adding additional infrastructure in order to preserve the life of deteriorating urban areas. Through this process, I hope to learn a lot about myself and the world around me.
