What did I learn this week?

This week I was privy to the process of requesting information from clients at Plante Moran for the first time (I had client documents available for the work that I did previously). I shadowed a client meeting where my supervisor was trying to obtain client documents before the upcoming October 15th deadline for extended tax returns.

In the future, how could I use what I learned this week to do better?

When I need information from one of my clients in the future, I learned that I have to be persistent in letting them know what I need and the time by which I need it.

How well did I communicate with other professionals this week? What did I do well? What could I have done better?

​

I kept asking to complete small tasks that could be completed in a day for my last week, since my main work was in the process of wrapping up. While I did a good job communicating that I needed work, I feel like I could have been more assertive in reiterating that I had almost nothing that I could do.
