What did I learn this week?

This week I put my knowledge of the accounting software to the test since I was tasked with setting up tax returns for a small business from scratch. Through this process, I learned a lot about the entire process and correlations between what I learned in accounting classes and features of the accounting software began to form in my brain.

In the future, how could I use what I learned this week to do better?

​

I will use what I have learned about the process from starting from scratch and the connections that I have formed to become more efficient and accurate with future projects using the accounting software.

How well did I communicate with other professionals this week? What did I do well? What could I have done better?

​

I could be better with asking simple questions as they come up (especially working with an interoffice virtual team). I did, however, become even more confident in meetings with my supervisor, including asking to shadow some of his work and enquiring if I could do more work related to state and local tax so I could become more specialized.
