What did I learn this week?

My first week at Plante Moran was essentially a week-long orientation and training. As such, I learned the basics of using Plante Moran's accounting software along with several other housekeeping and administrative tasks

​

In the future, how could I use what I learned this week to do better?

​

I will apply what I have learned about the accounting software to my first client work next week and hopefully perform to the expectations of my team.

How well did I communicate with other professionals this week? What did I do well? What could I have done better?

​

The other interns and I ate lunch together in the office's large meeting room. One could have heard a pin drop at the first couple of lunches. On Wednesdays the whole office eats lunch in the meeting room, and our coworkers encouraged us to socialize and network with the rest of the office. Essentially, what I should have done based on this anecdote is to be more forthcoming in introducing myself to my coworkers and establishing rapport.

Later in the week, I took a step in the right direction by setting up a Teams chat for the summer 2022 interns to ask questions and to get to know each other better.
